Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Instead of adopting the Bronco Sport’s standard turbocharged three-cylinder engine, Ford has taken a hybrid approach with the Maverick’s base powertrain. All trims feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 191 horsepower. This configuration is exclusive to front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission.
